Adult Acute Leukemia question?
My 77 year old mother has been diagnosed with Adult Acute Leukemia. Because of her age she will not do chemo. I'm wanting to know if someone has any experience with this type of situation or if you can give me links for information. I'm wanting to know what to expect, without chemo they have given her 3 months. I can't find any information anywhere, can someone please help me?
Thank you,
Thanks for the information on NHS. My mom has AML. It's been difficult, the Dr. told us that it is a very aggressive type of cancer. She already has a blast of 21%.
thank you,

Hi, Sorry to hear about this.
My mother had a type of Acute Leukemia she sadly passed away nearly a year ago now. It was Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
Try the NHS Website to search for this. My mother was put in remission, and had a bone marrow transplant, but they attacked her good cells - and sadly the leukemia came back. I personally would not know what to expect in your situation because she isn't having chemotherapy - for which i am very sorry. All that I can say is that if you are trying to look online ONLY get Information from the NHS website. Otherwise I suggest seeing a doctor to explain this. They have some horrible - untrue things online.
I wish you all the best
