Blood tests, Leukemia question?
I had blood tests done 3 weeks ago, I have to go back on Friday for some more. The first set of tests came back ok (I had slightly low iron but not anemic so I was given iron tablets). Basically I am worried I may have Leukemia, my symptoms are:
* Extremely tired all the time - even after sleeping 12 hours
* Being awake a few hours then needing to take a nap
* Very pale and dark rings under my eyes
* Headaches
* Lethargy
* Lack of concentration - I used to love reading but now I cant
* Weakness/no energy
* Really fast heartbeat when I wake up
I have had these symptoms for about 5 months now. What does it sound like it could be? Would leukemia have showed in the first blood test that was done?

Madina - I have leukemia. Your very first blood test would have been enough to show them this. So what I want you to do is calm down, relax, now take a deep breathe. Feel any better? Hope so. I am not making little of what is going on with you. I just want you to rest assured you will be okay. Maybe you need to build up a little, and eat more protein, and take some vitimans. But please don't worry. It is good that you are getting this blood work done. Take good care and be well.

most of the times the blood test will show leukemia rarely a bone marrow study may be required ,
