Can a leukemia survivor ever donate blood/bone marrow?
I was just wondering, I actually don't meet the height/weight requirements right now but I am a 10 year childhood leukemia survivor, I'm now 21. At any point, would I be able to donate blood or bone marrow. I always forget to ask my doctors and I tried to get information on the internet but I can't find this specifically. Please don't just guess or assume... this is kinda important to me so only answer if you're sure!

I too wondered the answer to this question as I'm in the same boat as you are. I have often been rejected when I go to donate blood as a result.
As it turns out, whether you're allowed to donate depends on the donation site. Due to being a leukemia survivor the requirements are a bit more stringent. People who have had leukemia/lymphoma as adults are not allowed to donate blood. However, childhood survivors may be able to donate after a 10 year cancer free period.
Basically the only thing you can do is try to donate, but make sure they know of your former illness. If they let you donate, great. If not, don't let it dissuade you from trying to donate at other places.
