Can someone who had leukemia relapse after twenty years?

Yes, it happened to my uncle (after only a couple of years).

- RipCity
Most definitely. It happens a lot as there is speculation that some cancer cell somehow remain dormant or that person just generates it somehow later. I hope this is not the case with anyone you know. I wish you all the best. Good luck

Yes. It happened to my uncle. He was fine and good, and then he relapsed...

YES, remission can last 2 months, 2 years, 20 years, or a lifetime. Every patient is different.

Generally speaking, patients who have made it to the 5 year mark without disease recurrence are in good shape. The likelihood of recurrence after 5 years is relatively low, though certainly not zero.

Yes, it can relapse after any time unfortunately, every patient is different. 5 years is often known as the "all clear" but it doesn't always live up to its name
