for freshwater fish or saltwater fish?
i kno alot about saltwater fish
-Ick is one of them
and many more i can think of but

ich is one of the most common. I had it a few times (only when a tank was stressed when new fish were added) and I tried some remedies from the fish store. They were semi-effective.

I found the best way to treat ick is by using heat. The last time I had ick (about a year ago) I turned the heater up to about 82 degrees (from about 78) and left it there for a few days. The ick went away and the fish were fine!

Here are some common fish diseases:

Ich- small, white spots on the fish

Protozoan Velvet- tiny, yellowish spots that look like powder all over the fish

Fin Rot- Red, white, or black edges to the fin, which will appear as if it's deteriorating

Pop-eye- The fish's eyeballs are protruding more than usual

Cloudy Eye- There is a gray film ontop of the fish's eye

Dropsy- The fish is bloated and it's scales may stick up, giving it the appearance of a pinecone

You can prevent most of these diseases by having clean water, adding aquarium salt, having the correct water temperature, making sure that the fish isn't stressed out, and by not overfeeding.

Freshwater or saltwater?

The most common for freshwater are ich, velvet, fin rot, dropsy, columnaris, and a variety of other parasites.

For saltwater, it would be the marine versions of ich and velvet (even though they have the same names, they're only similar in appearance and are caused by different organisms) Brooklynella( clownfish disease), and lymphocystis.
