Does anyone have any compelling leukemia related stories to share?
My uncle (only 25 years old) passed yesterday morning from complications of leukemia. I would like to share these stories with my family and other friends to spread awareness as well as give others struggling a sense of hope. thanks!

- Cillian =)
I'm sorry about your uncle. I'll tell you a shortened version of my story

I was first diagnosed with leukaemia when I was 7. It took a while to diagnose what was actually wrong with me. I underwent many cycles of chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. I had a bone marrow transplant, which put me into remission aged 11

I was in remission for over 4 years, until I relapsed recently at age 16. I'm currently undergoing chemo in the hope of finding remission again

It's a tough illness, hopefully I'll make it through again. Again my condolences for the loss of your uncle

- Mady
I'm sorry about your uncle. I, too, have lost close family members so I know what it's like. Hang in there.

I was diagnosed with leukemia when I was 13 years (acute lymphocytic leukemia.) It was harrowing not only in body but in mind. Illnesses like leukemia change you so much (for the better hopefully :), but I am done (hopefully again) with the disease, as I finished chemotherapy in January. Finishing chemotherapy is, in a way, just as scary as starting it, since you begin to think of chemo as a life jacket that could save you from ANYTHING. Luckily, that mentality is disappearing from my mind, there's this one part of me that's still really paranoid.
