Is this a disturbing dream for an atheist to have?
I had a strange dream on Easter morning. I was invited to a funeral of a man I didn't know personally but who was believed to be very good and well liked by my closests friends.
When I got to the funeral I discovered I wasn't dressed appropriately and everyone was quite angry with me for that reason.
Then I saw that one of the mourners was my spiritual mentor who died of leukemia in 1992. At first I thought it was his brother, who looks a lot like him, but as I got closer I saw it was really him. He smiled at me and told me not to worry about how I was dressed or the irritation of the other mourners. Then he disappeared into the crowd.
I'm an atheist and this was a very distrurbing dream for me because the resonance with Easter was so marked.
Kinda shook me up. What do you think?

Sounds like maybe your doubting your own beliefs.

That is kind of weird. I had a dream that the rapture happened and pretty much everyone I knew was gone. Maybe it's because Easter is such a big deal.

I think it was an interesting dream with a combination of symbology based on the prevalent culture and your own personal experiences.
Do you think some truth was expressed by the dream? If so, embrace it. If not, then accept it for what it was, a dream.

Well, for those that believe in god, they would probably say it was a slap from god. lol
Are you really an athiest, or just a person who lives his life how he sees fit....not really caring if there is a god or not.
You'll have to answer that question yourself.

I had a dream that I had a baby and accidentally knocked it down the stairs in it's stroller- that was a disturbing dream!
