My little sister just had a baby 4 months ago and was just diagnosed with leukemia?
The other day. I am wondering if any other parents out here have had a similar experience and how things went. Are you or someone you know recieving treatment? What kind of things do you/they need help with? Are there any tips or my family and I to be more helpful through this hard time for her?

My friends baby was diagnosed with cancer, and it is rough. But children are very tough and reselient. Prayer and support is what your sister will need to make it through this horrible time. Be there for her and your niece or nephew. The one major thing she will need from you is a soft place to fall and vent when she needs to!

Bless you and your sister's family and I will keep you all in my prayers.

About 10 years ago a friend of mine was pregnant and during her pregnancy was diagnosed with leukemia. They did treatments during the pregnancy (chemo) in high doses. We weren't sure how the baby would react to it or if the child would survive. The baby is now a beautiful 10 year old girl named Angelina and her mom has been in remission since.

She'll be really tired during treatments and probably feeling pretty poorly. Just be there to help with the baby and be support (emotionally) for her because it's a trying time. If you can find a support group for her that would help tremendously.

My thoughts will be with you and your family.

I'm soooo sorry to hear about this. My sister, Kayla passed from Burketts leukemia when she was 6yrs old. We didn't find out she had it until she was 5 and they tried aggressive treatments and all. Find out what type of leukemia she has and do major research. I was 20 when she left the world but i learned so much about this disease. Be there for your sister and the baby as you never know how much time you have. Your sister will go through things that no parent should go through or will understand but be there for her, especially on those down days. The hospitals usually will have a liason to help you and your family out and you can find support groups and go with your sister to them. It may be easier if she meets other people going through the same thing. God Bless you and your family as this will be a tough journey. On the other hand I went to high scholl with a guy who was diagnosed and I'm not sure with what type of leukemia but we are 15 yrs out of high school and he's great. Owns his own business, got married last yr and is working on starting his own family.
