What is causing the high incidence of breast cancer and leukemia in Marin County, CA, USA ?
Can you tell me if the high incidence of breast cancer and leukemia in Marin County, CA, USA is concentrated in specific towns/regions and if there are any definitive fact-based conclusions as to what is causing it? I am considering moving there but want to make sure that environmental issues (e.g. water supply, geological makeup, or old military deposits) are not causing these problems?

I live in Marin and have pondered this many a time...
I've concluded that it has to do with the awareness level here... we're very conscious about our health here, and I would bet that we have a higher per capita of women that seek to have a mammogram on a regular basis, therefore it is found more often.
There are may 'conspiracy theory' types of things.. such as Hamilton Air Force Base and the Alcohol consumption, and government testing in the 60's over SF and the winds carried items to Marin...
