What is eosinophilia leukemia?

What is eosinophilia leukemia?
My husband had acutel lymphoblastic leukemia, the oncol. said his age of 57 and eosinophilia that he needed a bone marrow transplant, I know esosinophils fight infection, but I don't know what that type of leukemia means and he passed due to complications with transplant, does anyone know what that means related to leukemia being worse, never got to ask him. Thank you, phyllis

Eosinophils are not the white cells that fight infection.
They are the white blood cells that mediate allergic responses.
Eosinophilia with ALL has been associated with greater mortality.
