Acute lymphoblastic leukemia???

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia???
My best friend is 15 and was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia in september of 2007. She's been in the hospital for a couple weeks, and when I was talking to her brother he said that she was going to have surgery. I know it didn't have to do with her bone marrow, but i was wondering what other types of surgerys she could possibly undergo with that type of leukeimia?

Please keep her in your prayers<3

It depends. It can be many things. It depends on her exact case. Maybe talk to the brother again. Just send some flowers and card and go see her. Good luck!!!

My husband was diagnosed with ALL 4 weeks ago. While he was in the hospital he had to have surgery to have a kidney stone removed and a ruptured ureter fixed. ALL can cause high levels of uric acid which can make kidney stones. The best way to find out what kind of surgery she is having is to ask her family. Send her a stuffed animal and a card. It gets really lonely in the hospital. If she is taking chemotherapy, she probably can't have real flowers. Also, take heart! ALL is very treatable in kids!

I will definately keep her in my prayers. My 4 year old niece has high risk pre-b A.L.L. (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). She was diagnosed in Sept 2006 and is still undergoing chemo treatment. She has had a rough time with chemo, infections, complications - she's had more complications than most patients. She has had several surgeries since diagnosis. She had surgery on her leg bone because the doctors needed to check for a bone infection they thought might be present. She had a few surgeries (the first surgery had complications) for a very large kidney stone that got stuck and could not be broken up. Again, she has had a much more difficult time with chemo than others. Two other children at the hospital with leukemia had surgery for kidney stones as well (probably the non-invasive type of surgery).

She would most likely need to have a central line placement for long term chemotherapy to prevent having to be stuck with needles so much. This is usually done in surgery. I sure will pray for her....that God will send His angels to protect her....and give the doctors and nurses wisdom in her care. Also will pray for her comfort, healing and peace for her and her family. You are a good friend to request prayer. God knows the best answers for her. Take care.
