first off it is called feline leukemia, only cats get it, a human cannot get it.. talk to your vet

Yes. FLV can be vaccinated against, and should be done on a regular basis. Having had cats before the vaccine was available, I lost many to the disease; it was heartbreaking. Please inoculate your cat as soon as you can, and maintain the shots.
