Furry Kids' Detected With Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) : Featuring Burger and Felix

Burger was a stray male cat that was humanely removed from Bandar Utama, Selangor and so was Felix, found in Selayang, Selangor. These 2 rescued stray cats were sent to the vet clinic where both of them were detected with FeLV, a virus that adversely affect the cat's body in many ways and it is the most common cause of cancer in cats. Burger and Felix were humanely removed from the streets and neutered before they were sent to Furry Friends Farm. Although the virus does not survive for a long period of time outside a cat's body, it can be transmitted to other healthy cats through saliva, bite wounds, nasal secretion, during mutual grooming, and also via urine, faeces and milk from infected cats. Therefore, Furry Friends Farm has created a special area for Burger and Felix. Currently they are well settled in the cattery where they are isolated from other healthy cats. We will be monitoring the health and behaviour of both furry kids closely, and provide a complete nutritional, balanced diet to these furry kids to give upon them a second chance to live.
