Good organizations to support for these things?
Okay, I have a few groups that I would like to help out, but I search and half of the sites are bullshit. So these are some groups I would like to support or help-
- Epilepsy (I found this one http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/ but is that the official one?)
- Leukemia (this is all I found http://www.lls.org/diseaseinformation/leukemia/ )
- Holocaust victims (Jewish families who lost everything, I remember seeing an ad for it but dont know what it was)
- Mental Illness (specifically down syndrome, parkinsons and autism).
- Something for veterans (I saw something called the Miller House and then I have seen Wounded Warriors)
Im only asking because I would like to help the one that will have the most impact. volunteering for stuff at a place with no manpower or donating money to an organization seems like a waste of resources. So if anyone knows which ones would be the most efficient, that would be great.
Thanks

The incidence of births of children with Down syndrome increases with the age of the mother. But due to higher fertility rates in younger women, 80 percent of children with Down syndrome are born to women under 35 years of age. People with Down syndrome have an increased risk for certain medical conditions such as congenital heart defects, respiratory and hearing problems, Alzheimer's disease, childhood leukemia, and thyroid conditions.
