Is it possible that I have some kind of sickness?
Hi! I'm Aia, fourteen years old and I live in the Philippines. I've been worried about what's happening to me lately. Please help me! I'm suspecting it's leukemia but I hope it's not.

Here are the things that have been happening to me:

1. nose bleeding - every single day. I wake up,there's blood on my pillow. gosh! I'm having nosebleed even when I'm asleep!

2. tonsillitis - gosh. my throat is like.. soaring. and I've searched wikipedia about it and it can be one of the signs of leukemia.

3. weakness - I always feel sleepy and simply walking up the stairs make me run out of breath.

4. flu

I had my blood checked and I'm about to go back to the doctor on Saturday. Here's the result:

Hemoglobin: 143g/L (F: 120-260)
RBC: 4.6x10 23/L (4.2-5.4)
WBC: 12.8x10 9 cells/L (4.5-11.0)

as you can see, my WBC exceeded the limit. Does that mean anything? My neutrophils also exceeded its limit. Please help meeeeeeeeee. Thanks. :D

first - the doctor should be able to tell you.
second - don't look up possible illnesses on the internet because you will get yourself woried over nothing.
third - ask the doctor

You have tonsillitis, the slight increase in your WBC and neutrophils show a bacterial infection, a weekly course of antibiotics will set everything back to normal again. Your nose bleeds may be nothing more than dry air, is your home airconditioned?
Go back to your doc and quit worrying

Neutrophilia can occur in acute bacterial infections and the tonsillitis can explain such a blood picture, but normally tonsillitis should not be causing epistaxis(nose bleed)every day. Moreover your blood picture is not that of Leukemia, so dont worry about Leukemia
You need to have your nose examined by an Otolaryngorhinologist, as nasal polyps etc can cause nose bleed. You also need to have your platelet count along with bleeding time, clotting time, and partial thromboplastin time checked.
