Mineral Spirits and Cancer?
I took a 3-month art class in which I used mineral spirits often. I didn't know it was dangerous and thus used it to wash paint off my dry hands and also ended up breathing in small amounts when I was cleaning up paint. Since the class, I've heard that the benzene in this product can cause leukemia. Would my risk for leukemia be high after this 3-month art class?

House painters have used it for decades in far larger quantities
the risk when measured in decades is negligible

that doesn't seem long enough to be a problem, plus you weren't doing that all day, just when you were doing cleanup

Kinda surprised your instructor gave the class no warning.
To put your mind at ease, please ask your doctor.
(By the way, I did the same decades ago and to the best of my knowledge I'm fine. But, given all the health warnings and MSDS documents now available, I now use disposable gloves.)
