MY friend was diagnosed with leukemia another friend of mine died from it. How should I handle this?
I haven't really been able to be around her much to avoid freaking out and scaring her but I want to still be around her. I don't want to scare her but I do want her to know why I have such issues with this.

You're scared because you've seen someone die from it. While leukemia does have a fairly good cure rate, everyone doesn't make that rate unfortunately.

But the best thing you could do for her is to spend time with her without "freaking out". If you think whatever you're going through is hard, imagine what she's going through - it's her life on the line, not yours. People with cancer don't want to be treated as "cancer patients"..just act normal and have fun like you used to, and I'm sure she'll thank you for that.
