need help desperately. at wits end?
my niece recently was diagnosed with AML (acute myelocytic leukemia) and is not taking it too well. never having experienced this before the family cannot know what she is going thru and she has no one that she can talk to about it. we can listen but never fully understand. we are looking for young adults that have experienced this and could possibly speak to her, comfort her. please help
we are looking for chat rooms that my help. we have all the medical information we could posably need. we know what the disease does. now we have to help my niece. we bought her a new laptop with wireless. copied nearly every movie i own ( over 300 ) and watched them w/her. had large gatererings at the ronanld mcdonald house. but she needs to find others like her to talk to.

i read that a case improved by drinking green tea... it has some healing qualities...

A lot of people in my family have been diagnosed with cancer and passed away from it. Grandfather, aunts, uncles, etc.
I don't really think there is one certain way to console someone and accept the fact that they are sick.
Just pray that the doctors can help to treat her, and be there for her anytime she needs a shoulder to cry on or needs to talk.

You could contact the society in the UK - although the doctor or hospital should be able to advise re counselling and support.
