A question about Leukemia?

A question about Leukemia?
If Leukemia is Cancer of the blood and, although I could be wrong about this, if a disease forms in the blood, it's usually contagious. Yet, Cancer isn't infectious and Leukemia is Cancer that forms in the blood cells. So, how could Leukemia not be transmitted if it's a blood Cancer?
