Re: Leukemia- Can you still have a normal blood test in early stage?

Re: Leukemia- Can you still have a normal blood test in early stage?
I have 6 of 9 symptoms. Mono and Tuberculosis have been ruled out. Symptoms have progressed over this last year but I don't usually have all the symptoms at once (except enlarged lymph nodes: armpits, groin and neck). Good days and bad days. Breast , uterine, ovarian cancer ruled out. 1 lymph node removed from breast was benign. Recent hysterectomy (okay).

It is better to talk about lymphome rather than leukemia as it manifest as lymph node enlargement.
However there is a list of causes for genralized lymphadenopathy(your case) including Lymphoma,HIV,even drugs like phenytoin.
the best lymph node to biopsy for diagnosis will be the neck.
As for leukemia there are 2 kinds that causes generalized lymph node enlargement: Chronin Myeliod leukemia ( easily diagnosed from blood work) & Chronic Lymphocytic leukemia) also diagnosed by boold work.
Acute leukemia may uncommonly presents as generalized lymphadenopathy & rarely blood work could be normal ( called Aleukemic leukemia).
In your case I think a bone marrow biopsy will be helpful.
I wish you get well soon & your problem resolved.

Red blood count drops dramatically with severe fatigue due to anemia. I have never encountered a case in which the initial blood work was normal.
