How to host a fund raiser for my 12 month old with ALL?

How to host a fund raiser for my 12 month old with ALL?
Last month, my 12 month old was diagnosed with B-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. We're still in the hospital but traveling costs, lost time at work, and co-payments are catching up quickly. My friend offered to do some type of fund raiser but doesn't know what to do. Any ideas on what would raise a bit of money in this situation? Thank you in advance. (By the way, he's doing great. His counts are up, he is responding well to chemo, other than some nasty diarrhea no sickness, and his cancer cells are not coming back so far.)

I don't know how to raise money, but I hope your baby is going to be ok.... I sincerely mean that. No parent should have to go thru that with a child...

first i wish you all the luck in the world and our prayers are with you.....for a friend that died 7 years ago we raise money for scholarships in her name.....we rent a hall (for 6 years now) and we all make TONS of food and host an all you can eat buffet and free beer i cant even tell you how much money we raise...we sell tickets for $ 12 per person....also every Sept we host a golf tournament....but i think the buffet is alot easier everyone cooks, local pizza place donates pizza, other locals donate food and we have a large outcome

go to area restuarants with documantation that e is sick, ask them to donate gift certificates, the more you get the better, print up some raffle tickets and sell them and raffle off the gift certificates
get a hall and host a talent show or some sort of entertainment and sell tickets for enterance

I have done alot of fundraisers in my community. First, set a date, make a flyer. do an auction. go to area businesses with a flyer in hand that they may keep-and they will prob. hang it for you for free advertising. ask for a donation for the event. Let them know that you will set out their business cards, flyer, sign, etc. for them the day of the event. alot of places will donate the building for such events so you dont have to rent someplace. serve food-hotdogs, hamburgers, or sloppy joes (keep it cheap) chips, cole slaw etc. charge for the food-there is alot i can tell you, if you would like some help, please email me and i would love to help. God bless, amanda
