I need a gift for a girl I know from work who just went into the hospital with newly diagnosed leukemia.?
She has tons of books, magazines, and dvd's already, and I don't know her all that well enough to know her interests.
She's in her early 20's. Any suggestions for gifts to give her? Something to brighten her mood and entertain her, preferably.

Maybe some nice lotion or a batch of fresh-baked cookies.

lolli pops, make up,, mirror and combe, also socks, slippers, nice pyjammas,
hot chocolate, marshmallows, potatoe chips, hot water bottle, nice blankett, pillows
these are the sort of things i loved poeple bringiung me in hospital
dont buy flowers as suggested below.
i had leukaemia and the vital rule was no coughs or colds on the ward and no flowers.
maybe fake flowers though

Why don't you pay her a visit and spend a little while just talking to her. Bring a plant or some flowers with you. I'd advise against food for any cancer patients unless you're sure that they'll be able to tolerate it and even if it's permitted. You could also send her a card with a nice note inside.
One other suggestion would be to buy her a nice eye cover for sleep and some ear plugs. This will help her get some better sleep and that will make her time in the hospital more tolerable.

Get her a years subscription to www.pogo.com. so many fun games and very nice peeps there to chat with as she plays. A longshot this may be, I did the same for a cancer victim, and he loved it . In fact he still does, as he goes on with the "C" in remission.
