Leukemia???

Leukemia???
I've been working on a project and i already finished my research paper on Leukemia but now i have to make a presentation to present tomorrow at school. I'm making a powerpoint and i'm only supposed to put the most interesting things about our topic, but i found all of it interesting and i can't put all of it. So in your opinion, what facts would you consider the most interesting?

I find the neutropenic diet and the length of time leukemia patients are neutropenic interesting. Apparently most treatments for most other cancer types do not drop the blood counts as low for as long. Although that makes sense since leukemia treatment is targeting the blood and bone marrow.

If bone marrow/stem cell transplant is including in your report, I LOVE the chimera stuff, as the blood of a transplant patient carries the dna of the donor, not the patients. And that the patient will change blood type if the donor is a different type. I love bringing up the CSI ep called chimera where the killer almost got away. He left blood at the scene, but when the crime lab tested him, they used cheek swab, which ofcourse showed different dna. And ofcourse, where the stem cells come from. THere are still so many uneducated people that think I am talking about killing a baby in order to live.

I just asked my nurse and she said the tenacity of the patients. And thats true. Leukemia treatment is very harsh and very difficult compared to a lot of other treatments, but there are still people here every day happy and living their life to the fullest.
