what are the side affects to leukemia treatment (tablet form)?

what are the side affects to leukemia treatment (tablet form)?
the doctor said that she has leukemia cells in her blood but she may not actually have it. she doesn't want to lose her hair so she's worried and would like to know what the side affects are. i know about chemo therapy and you may lose your hair in that.

thank you

first we have to care about our health so we have to take treatment first then go to hair solution clinic

Sounds like a CLL - chronic lymphocytic leukemia - but of course we cannot guess with such limited information. There are many types of leukemia and many oral agents used to treat them. What medication are you asking about? We don't even know the age of the person you are asking about. Any prescription medication in tablet form comes with a written list of potential side effects. It is a good idea to read this carefully.
"Chemotherapy" is not one thing.
There are more than 100 different medications called "chemotherapy."

The treatment you are going to receive is chemo therapy (that is chemical treatment which the tablets are) I have had chronic lymphatic leukaemia for the past twelve years and have received this form of treatment several times. usually you take seven or eight tablets a day for five day. This in my case was repeated once a month for four months, but I suspect in your case this would not be needed.Apart from some fatigue and a little diarrhoea towards the end of the week I experienced no difficulty ,and I did not lose any hair. You will obviously not need to have treatment any where near as severe as this so do not worry you will sail through it God Bless

It sounds like pre-leukemia. My understanding is that she will go through chemo for this. Yes, the side effect of chemo is hair loss. So if the doctors tell her she needs chemo, then she can conclude she will lose her hair. In exceptionally rare cases, some have not lost their hair. But it is so rare that I wouldn't even consider it.

I'm not sure how old the person that we are talking about is. If they are an adult, I would expect them to be worried more about their health. Leaukemia is serious. Leukemia is cancer. There is a chance of death from leukemia or death from chemo. Both of which are more serious than hair loss.

If it is a child, that is different. They do not understand the seriousness of the condition. Loss of hair is extremely traumatic to some children.
