Biting problem with 5 year old?
It's a little hectic around here with having 5 kids to look after, so my daughter has found a new way to get attention: biting. This has never been a problem before but within the last month she has been doing it more and more. My 3 year old has juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia and has taken a turn more or less for the worse within the month and her sister has more than once bitten her. Our 3 year old bleeds easily as a side effect from the disease and it is sometimes hard to stop the bleeding.
Any tips on how to keep our daughter from doing this? We are at our wits end seeing as none of our kids have ever done this.

I'm so sorry about your 3 year old.
Regardless of the fact that the 5 year old is doing it for attention I would make the punishment very severe. Not only does a 5 year old know better but she is endangering the health of her sister. I would scould her and make her play in her room alone for the rest of the day when she does it. If she can't play nicely with others she can't play with them at all. You are going to have to make the punishment harsh enough to keep her from doing it again.

sit her down face to face, no interruptions and tell her that she means a lot to you and that you love her a lot, then tell her though that their are consequences for her biting(maybe not to her, but to her siblings) .
also (this is me) i say tell her princesses never bite..lol =D
but yea make time for her just in your day and make sure she knows you love her in a individual way..

wow, I'm so sorry to hear about your 3 year old. Best of luck to you on that note.
As for the biting, I nannied for a girl who started biting my daughter. First of all we tried to prevent it. If I saw that they were in a situation, such as playing with a toy that might cause her to bite because she wanted that toy or something, I would separate them before anything happened, distract her in a way. And is I was to late, we always picked her and sat her in time out, with out saying anything to her on the way. Once she was in time out, a safe place where she couldn't get hurt, but that there was no interaction from anyone else, we would hold her hand in her lap and say, "Sophia, we do not bite" then 1 minute for every year of age, not to exceed 10 minutes. Hopefully this helps! Best of luck to your family!
