does medical marijuana help people with leukemia?

does medical marijuana help people with leukemia?
if it does,
how sooooo?

can it increase their chances of living longer?

- Dr.House
The THC in it can kill leukemia cells, but it hasn't really been proven.

Edit: Wow, the only actual doctor with an actual true answer gets 3 thumbs down?

- Shambo
It has always been my understanding that medical marijuana is used with cancer patients to help with the side effects of chemotherapy or other treatments since it helps stimulate the appetite and reduces nausea. I have never heard of it actually having an effect on the cancer itself but they are always learning new things so maybe it does.

The marijuana will help with the side effects of the treatment like nausea, but it is not a part of the actual treatment and will not increase the chances of living longer.

- april
Medical marijuana helps with the nausea from chemo and also helps with the appetite. It in no way, cures or prevents or treats cancer.

- BSherman
Marijuana is a mind altering drug that may have undesirable interactions with anti-cancer medications. Don't add to your existing problems by smoking dope.
