How much would it cost to have a possible tumor removed from my dogs face?

How much would it cost to have a possible tumor removed from my dogs face?
I have an 11 year old Cocker Spaniel and he developed what I thought was a cyst but the vet thinks it a tumor. It is under his right eye over his sinus concavity. I want to have it removed but she says it would cost us thousands of dollars. Does anyone know around how much an average Anastasia and tumor removal cost?

ask your vet. Different locations have different costs.

It's "anesthesia".

Why did your veterinarian tell you it would cost you thousands of dollars? I suspect you are missing some information in your question, which will get you a more accurate answer.

You do have the option of taking the dog to another veterinarian to have the lump looked at and to discuss the possibility of having it removed. Ask for a cost estimate when/if you go for a second opinion.

my dog had a tumor removed (12 years old jack russell terrier) and the cost of the surgery was about 600 dollars ... the pre-bloodwork was a little over 100 ... and this was at one of the most expensive vets where i live (large city) ... you should call around ... and i can't see a vet removing a lump without knowing what it is so a fine needle biopsy would also be needed and for my dog that was just over 100 dollars as well ... i think "thousands" is a bit of an exaggeration but it is major surgery so the charges can add up ...

Well it depends on how big it may be my dog had a tumor removed it summed up to be about 12,000 $ but his tumor was huge i am glad we did it because his was life threatning
