how rare is it for a person to be born with A negative blood to parents with O positive and A positive blood?
I am A negative, as is my sister, but our parents (yes, they are both are biological parents, it is a fact) are both positive. My mother is A positive and our father is O positive. We know that our father has a predominant amount of Basque in his family, which is the main origin of this blood type, but he had O positive blood and died of leukemia several years ago.

If both of your parents are positive, they must both have a positive and a negative allele. The chances of a child of theirs being negative is 25% per child.
If your father was O, he has two O alleles, which he will pass on to his children. If your mother is A, she can either have two A alleles, or an A and an O. If she has 2 A alleles, the chance of their children having type A is 100%. If she has AO, there is a 50% chance of the child having type A, and 50% of having type O.
