what ways can I help a physician explain leukemia to a patients who have this disease?

1. Each doctor explains things in his own way. It is best to know the doctor you are working with and what approach s/he takes with each patient. It is also very patient specific. Everyone needs to know, but some people want to know more than others. I generally talk with the doctor first to get his or her sense of things before launching into a discussion with the patient.

2. Make sure you know what you are talking about. Giving out bad information is worse than giving out no information.
