If a healthy person makes physical contact with a blood cancer patient, then, does he too get this disease?
I recently came2 knw that my fiancee suffers frm "blood cancer" or as it is called "chronic myeloid leukemia". i just wana knw is this disease communicable? Can physical contacts or kissing, make me also a CML patient? Will i have nortmal & healthy babies? As i am very easily prone to infections, my immunity is not strong...
i am really worried. Rite now i am not in a position to visit to doctor. kindly help, plz...

NO Cancer is not contagious. If he was contagious--he would be put in a hospital room--everyone would have to wear a mask--gown--gloves--head covered--to get into the room to seem him. Quit worrying.

If cancer was contagious than we would all have it by now. Cancer is a disease of a persons own unique DNA . . his own cells have mutated and has lost the ability to stop growing. You can't 'catch' someone elses 'blood type' . . so there is nothing to 'catch' by being near anyone with leukemia. If anything you are more a danger to the patient than he is to you .. because you have germs and bacteria that normally don't bother healthy people . . but cancer patients have compromised immune systems and can develop life threatening conditions from you! So the danger is just the opposite of what you think . . you are the danger to him.
