There are boards on the leukemia site to help you connect with others who can help you & your husband cope. You should also ask your husbands Dr. about local groups for support.
Have you considered speaking with your local church? It doesn't matter if your a member, most have grief counseling. Your local hospice can also direct you to help.

Leukemia is a type of cancer caused due to radioactive pollution, by Iodine-131, that damages bone marrow.
It is a malignant disease in which there is an uncontrolled poliferation of LEUCOCYTES in the BONE MARROW. The cells fail to mature into adult cells and thus cannot function as part of the defence mechanism against INFECTIONS. Symptoms include ANAEMIA, bleeding, ready bruising with enlargement of the SPLEEN, LIVER & LYMPH NODES.
Acute Leukaemia is of a sudden onset, while a chronic form has a slower development. Leukaemia is also classified acc. to the types of cells involved.
TREATMENT includes RADIOTHERAPY, CHEMOTHERAPY & BONE MARROW TRANSPLANTS, and although there is no guarantee of cure, the outlook has improved in the recent years. The remission and survival rates vary with the different forms of LEUKAEMIA.

Hey, I'm sorry about your loss, I bet its hard to lose some one close to you. As for the information on dying of leukemia, your husbands doctor might be able to give you more information on that, seeing as sometimes, the information on here isnt always acurate. But as for you having trouble dealing with death, I suggest you talk to your doctor for a refferal to a Hospice orginazation near you, Hearts for Hospice is a wonderful program, They help the patient, as well as the family, through their trouble and hard times, and they are a non profit orginazation, they dont cost any money because the people there know that one more medical bill is nothing you need right now.
