Recovery after chemotherapy.?

Recovery after chemotherapy.?
I am 6 weeks after chemotherapy (one week continuous) with cladribine for Hairy cell leukemia. How long is the recovery to get my energy level back to normal?

This is impossible to answer, as everyone is different, and chemo treatment varies from person to person.

However, you might be wondering why you feel 'out of it' and can't get your energy levels back. It takes a long time to get over chemo, and if you go to www.after-cancer.com there are lots of ideas for things that help, especially products that combat side effects and have been clinically trialled in hospitals.

There is also inf about exercise - I know you may feel far too tired for this, but it is proven to help us restore energy.

Good luck

It depends on how long it takes your counts to recover- 6 weeks is still early going. Your normal cells can take up to 120 days to make themselves known, and you wont feel 'normal' during that time unless you're receiving blood or blood products. If your symptoms are significant, ask your oncologist if you'd benefit from blood transfusion.
