signs and symptoms of this cancer vary from person to person
they include
-extreme fatigue
-abnormal or sporatic bleeding
-ecessive bruising
-wounds that do not heal
-weakness
-weight loss
-bone or joint pain
-recurrent infection
-fevers
-enlarged spleen or lymph nodes
most of the time-these symptoms go undetected until a routine blood test is done-where it shows up. low white and red blood cell counts are the first indications of the disease being present

what do u mean exactly she is at risk of developing of leukaemia?
signs & symptoms of leukaemia include pallor, infection, and bleeding. fatigue, weight loss, fever, bone pain.
simple test like full blood count should be able to screen for leukaemia.

Signs and symptoms for each type of leukemia differ, but common symptoms include:
Fever or chills
Persistent fatigue, weakness
Frequent infections
Loss of appetite or weight
Nosebleeds and bleeding from the gums
Swollen lymph nodes, enlarged liver or spleen
Easy bleeding or bruising
Shortness of breath when you're physically active, as while climbing steps
Tiny red marks in your skin (petechiae)
Excessive sweating, especially at night
Bone pain or tenderness
The severity of signs and symptoms depends on the number of abnormal blood cells and where they collect. You may overlook early symptoms of leukemia because they may resemble symptoms of the flu and other common illnesses.

The symptoms in chronic forms of leukaemia may not appear for a long time and the person may be able to lead a normal life. However, acute leukaemia presents with symptoms like:
Fatigue associated with anaemia due to the lowered number of cells which carry oxygen
Paleness of the face
Continuous low grade fever
Bleeding from gums or nose due to decrease in the number of platelets
Vulnerability to infection due to lowered immunity
Appearance of small red marks or petechiae (blood clots in the skin)
Abnormal menstruation in women
Unexpected loss of weight with loss of appetite.
Chronic leukaemias are diagnosed mostly when the patient goes in for a routine blood test and the sample shows an abnormal amount of WBC's. Subsequently, specialised tests may be done to determine the exact type of leukaemia. A bone marrow biopsy in which the bone marrow is sampled using a needle, confirms the presence of leukaemia.
In acute forms, the patient may seek medical help when he feels excessively tired and loses appetite. The above tests confirm the diagnosis.
