What type of nursing school or major are you supposed to have to be an oncology nurse?

What type of nursing school or major are you supposed to have to be an oncology nurse?
I was looking at a college's School of Nursing and I wanted to know if going into nursing school can prepare you for any type of nursing specifically an Oncology Nurse. If so, do you have to take additional classes after nursing school?

Typically you go to any nursing school of your choice ( make sure it is accredited). Throughout your clinical s you will work in various different areas of nursing. once you get your RN license you can go back to school to specialize in oncology care but first you need ur RN.

Yes, it will prepare you for not only oncology, but also a wide variety of other nursing specialties. You will need to work as a registered nurse for a few years, in whatever area you choose. After job experience you may take an exam to become a Certified Oncology Nurse.

Good luck!
