Anemia, no. This is a simple iron deffiecncy (sp) that can be fixed with vitamins.

Something like myleomas and the sort can infact progress into leukemias and lymphomas.

How old is this gf?

No, anemia is a sign of leukemia, as far as I know, it can't turn into leukemia... We usually send our leukemia patients to Northwestern or University of Chicago, so I only have a basic understanding of leukemia, but here it is: with leukemia, the body is basically in hyperdrive to make white blood cells (the infection fighters) which doesn't give enough room to make the red blood cells (low red blood cells=anemia). unless her other labs are FAR off, (and I mean so far that it would scare any doctor that isn't a hematologist), I wouldn't worry about it. Anemia can be caused by many many many things, commonly iron deficiency and women that have heavy periods (sorry don't mean to gross you out). Hope this helps a little!!!!
