You mean the FELV? You can't stop cancers, but if your cat is FELV negative, you keep them inside and do not expose them to cats outside or those that may be FELV positive. Do not use the vaccine - it causes more problems and can increase the risk of other cancers.

Keeping your cat indoors is the best way. And if your cat gets it, making sure no infections is the key to lengthening your cat's life. It is not an immediate death sentence, but does shorten its life.

1) Keep your cat indoors
2) Get it innoculated against FeLv. It's not 100% effective but definitely far more effective than NOT vaccinating it at all.

Cancer: I don't have cancer or leukemia at this time but this may change in the next few months following a microwave (radar, x-ray, gamma) attack at my new apt.
